Does St. Louis City Government back Ed Martin?

"Ed Martin will give Carnahan a run for his money. . .I like Ed," said St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay of Martin, who will duke it out with incumbent Cong. Russ Carnahan.
That's from Sunday's Berger's Beat. It's pretty surprising to see an elected Democrat speak so kindly of Ed Martin. Perhaps Mayor Slay will walk that back in a few days.

Or maybe he'll get some support from the city's alderman. Arch City Chronicle is reporting that Democrat Alderman Fred Wessel's yard, while it sports a Jake Hummel (D-MO) sign, does not have one for Russ Carnahan.

Obviously, neither Slay nor Wessel is endorsing Ed Martin, but it doesn't look like either is endorsing Russ Carnahan either.

Though there may be much I do not know about him, I think Slay has been great for St.Louis and is an outstanding person.
He is a great American who knows the value if service to a community.
Where will you be for the weekend's activities?
I'd love to look for those I frequent online.
I am looking for Patch as well....
Bill is always easy to find.
