Washington Times: Herman Cain wins GOP Florida straw poll; Rick Perry in second place:
ORLANDO — Former Godfather Pizza CEO Herman Cain won the Presidency 5 straw poll here Saturday, delivering a blow to Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s frontrunner status and a victory for a candidate who has struggled to transform his grassroots popularity into strong showings in national polls....He received 37 percent of the more than 2,600 votes cast.
Congratulations to one of the Tea Party favorites in the crowded GOP field. Herman Cain would make a great president and this is the sort of boost that his campaign needs as Rick Perry, Mitt Romney, and even Chris Christie are sucking all the air out of the room. Cain's straw poll victory also debunks Morgan Freeman's absurd accusation that the Tea Party is motivated by racism toward President Obama.
