Child Soldiers: Our Syrian Allies

The photo above is from NYMag.com which reports:
The photo, taken by Sebastiano Tomada, shows Ahmed, the eight-year-old son of a Syrian rebel fighter, smoking and standing guard with an AK-47 outside a barricade in Aleppo.
That's the face of our Syrian "allies" and every Chicago third grader is now wondering when he gets an assault rifle and pack of smokes courtesy of the American tax payer. I mean, if it's good enough for our "friends" surely we wouldn't want American children to go without.

It's troubling that our "allies" employ child soldiers. Didn't then Senator Barack Obama co-sponsor legislation in 2008, later signed into law, to prohibit America from sending money and material to countries using child soldiers? Yes, yes he did. It passed the House and Senate unanimously. There were a lot of abstentions, but no one in either House of Congress voted against it.

As president, Obama has repeatedly waived that law. Apparently, he opposed the use of child soldiers before he supported it which may explain why John Kerry got the top job at Foggy Bottom.

Bay State Hockey and the White House

John Kerry with hockey injuries
The Post Game: Senator's Hockey Injuries Stand Out At NHL Champs' White House Visit:
NHL teams have visited the White House for years after winning the Stanley Cup, but it's a safe bet that never before has a Senator shown up more beaten and broken than the hockey players.
Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) was part of the ceremony honoring the Boston Bruins 2011 Stanley Cup win, appearing like he had just come from a knock-down, drag-out ruckus.
Kerry, 68, suffered two black eyes and a broken nose during a "friendly game of hockey" with family and buddies over the Christmas break, according to TheHill.com. If that's the result of a friendly game, we don't want to be a part of an unfriendly one.
"He must feel like Mitt Romney after South Carolina," Kerry spokeswoman Whitney Smith told the Boston Globe when confirming the injury.
In other Stanley Cup news from the White House, Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas thumbed his nose at Obama administration. Thomas refused to appear with teammates :
"I believe the Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People.
This is being done at the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial level. This is in direct opposition to the Constitution and the Founding Fathers vision for the Federal government.
Because I believe this, today I exercised my right as a Free Citizen, and did not visit the White House. This was not about politics or party, as in my opinion both parties are responsible for the situation we are in as a country. This was about a choice I had to make as an INDIVIDUAL.
Thomas is a Tea Partier so it's nice to see him use the President's photo op as a platform to condemn big government.

‪Senator Rubio Speaks Tea Party Truth to Entrenched Establishment Power

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) delivered a tremendous soliloquy on the floor of the Senate Saturday. He yielded to a couple of questions from Sen. John Kerry (D-MA). Simply put, Sen. Rubio spoke Tea Party truth to entrenched establishment power. And, really, watch the whole thing--it just keeps getting better.
