After Party: A Return to the Beginning

Earlier today, Lisa Payne-Naeger's article at Examiner.com reminded me of my first interview with Bill Hennessy and the need for introspection, the need to return to first principals. That interview is above. I shot it several days before the first Tax Day Tea Party in 2009.

Bill has written extensively about the After Party. It represents a transformation in the Tea Party movement. It's a move away from public protests and speeches. It's an effort to activate our neighborhoods. I'm sure there will still be rallies as the 2012 election approaches, but there's also a need to knock on doors for candidates , there's a need to caucus and/or vote in primaries, and there's a need for basic, civil discourse with our neighbors. After Partiers drive those activities by fostering relationships with their neighbors and reminding them to get out and participate.

The St. Louis Tea Party's next After Party is coming up. It's our Christmas Party and I've contacted several politicians and candidates and asked them to stop by. No speeches. Just time to mingle one-on-one. I hope to see you there on Thursday, 12/15, at 7PM. We're meeting at the Holiday Inn South; 4234 Butler Hill; Oakville, MO.

The St. Louis Tea Party held our inaugural "After Party" Thursday evening at the Crowne Plaza in Clayton, MO. Over a hundred people attended the event which introduced the Tea Party's new initiative to transform itself so that it can drive political change through direct, local action. Going forward, there will be monthly meetings to inform and educate After Partiers about current issues, political activism, and (to the degree it's required) technology.

‪Bill Hennessy speaks at the St Louis City GOP Picnic ‬‏

St. Louis Tea Party co-founder Bill Hennessy spoke at the St. Louis city GOP's picnic. He talked about the decline of the St. Louis region and how that corresponds to Democrat control. He mentioned the important progress that was made in 2010 for Republicans because of Tea Party conservatives and emphasized that both St. Louis city and county needed Republican leadership before they can reverse their downward trajectory.

Andre Harper Launches His New Book: The Citizen's Guide

Andre Harper met with St. Louis area Tea Partiers at the Friday night launch of his new book: The Citizen's Guide to Defeating the Mainstream Media. In the last video in the playlist above, Harper talks about his book and the importance of fighting the MSM. He gives an outline of the book and then takes questions from the attendees. Ed Martin's Inaugural Obamacare Hearing

Bill Hennessy to Address The Discussion Club

St. Louis, MO- St Louis Tea Party Coalition Co-Founder Bill Hennessy has been given the distinction as the next speaker for The Discussion Club. On January 13, 2011, Bill will begin the discussion on the future of the Tea Party at 7pm at the Hilton Frontenac.

Mr Hennessy follows a long line of highly respected rhetorical giants in his appearance at this monthly gathering. The Discussion Club is a non-profit, non-political organization which welcomes members of all walks of life. It’s purpose is to promote discussion to bring about greater understanding on all issues presented. This organization has been running in St. Louis, Missouri for over 50 years.

The evening begins at 6:30pm with an informal mixer, followed by dinner from 7-8pm. At 8 pm, Mr Hennessy will address the attendees on the future both the St. Louis Tea Party Coalition, and the future of the Tea Party Movement. After Hennessy’s initial address, the floor will be open for discussion.

The Hilton Frontenac is located at Highway 40 and Lindbergh Blvd. The cost for the event is $37 per person, which includes dinner.

St Louis "Letting Off Steam" Tea Party

On November 28th, conservative St. Louis activists held their "Letting Off Steam" Tea Party at Kiener Plaza. Saturday's rally featured numerous speakers who exhorted the crowd to continue the fight against big government, federally imposed healthcare, a raft of unaccountable czars, bailouts, and a Washington-created cap and tax scheme to benefit Wall St paper shufflers. The speakers praised states rights (10th amendment), liberty, and freedom encouraging attendees to take a more active role in their communities.

Monday morning I heard that James O'Keefe was going to be at Washington University in Saint Louis. I had some free time, so I headed over hoping to get an interview. James graciously consented and I talked to him about the rise of citizen journalism. Last Friday, 10/23/9, Bill Hennessy and Dana Loesch led a protest against GOP backroom politics in NY23. Bill praised Ed Martin for going against the GOP machine while Dana announced that the Tea Party will kick the GOP to the curb or take them over if they don't shape up.

On Friday, 10/23/9, Bill Hennessy and Dana Loesch led a protest against GOP backroom politics in NY23. Bill praised Ed Martin (Republican challenger to Russ Carnahan in MO03) for calling on the GOP to Dump Dede because she does not represent the values of conservatives and mainstream Republicans.

St Louis Tea Party takes on the GOP

Dana Loesch and Bill Hennessy called for the GOP to dump Dede in NY-23. Loesch and Hennessy spoke outside of St. Louis City Hall where they called on Tea Partiers to support conservative Doug Hoffman over liberal, Acorn-backed, Dede Scozzafava. When asked about this confrontation with the GOP, Dana remarked that Tea Partiers were not going to be co-opt by the Republican Party, but were rather in the process of taking it over. Bill Hennessy praised Ed Martin (R), who is running to unseat Russ Carnahan (D-MO) in MO-03, for taking a stand in support of Doug Hoffman. Bill called on other Missouri Republicans to do the same. Paul Curtman, who is running for state rep in Missouri's 105th, was there to support conservatism and Doug Hoffman. Check out some of my pictures from the event.
