Russ Carnahan is Vulnerable

Ooops! The black baby butchers tipped their hand: NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC Sends $100,000 to Candidates in Competitive House Races:
The PAC‘s contributions include $5,000 each to the general-election campaigns of the following pro-choice incumbents: Reps. Russ Carnahan in Missouri’s 3rd District; Phil Hare in Illinois’ 17th District...
They list several other incumbents, but I think Adam "Jackpot Brother" Sharp would be proud that his top two targets are listed first among the Congressional candidates that NARAL believes to be vulnerable. Nice work, Sharp!

Phil Hare (D-IL) Faces a Tough Re-election Fight

Bob McCarty writes about labor union efforts to save Phil Hare (D-IL):
In short, the billboard messages paint Hare in the light of truth and are based on a number of incidents involving the the 17th Congressional District’s incumbent Democrat. Below are some examples:
1. On Dec. 15, Hare sided with the Obama Administration when he told a national television audience that terrorists at GITMO should be moved to Thomson, Ill.;
2. On April 1, Hare was captured on video saying, “I Don’t Worry About the Constitution”;
3. Four months ago, Hare reportedly told one of his aides to follow a constituent and get his license plate number so he could find out who he was;
4. On Aug. 27, Hare had one of his operatives file a complaint against Veterans4Constitution;
5. During a Labor Day parade in East Moline, Ill., he told a local television reporter he had received death threats, but never filed a police report, leading many to believe he was seeking sympathy; and
6. Throughout the campaign season, Hare has upset veterans by calling himself a veteran despite the fact that “veteran” status is, according to the federal government, “reserved for a person who served in the active military, naval, or air service, and who was discharged or released therefrom under conditions other than dishonorable.”
Phil Hare's opponent is Republican Bobby Schilling.

Phil Hare (D-IL) Intimidates a Veteran

Phil Hare Intimidates Veteran

Rep Phil "I don't care about the Constitution" Hare (D-IL) didn't like the line of questioning he got from one of his veteran constituents, so he asked a member of his staff to tail that veteran, Ken Moffett, to his car and record Moffett's license plate number. Here are some key quotes from Moffett's letter to the Committee on Standards of Official Conduct:
The purpose of this letter is to inform you of an incident which occurred between myself and Representative Phil Hare, on Monday, May 31, 2010.

Congressman Phil Hare, of the 17th Congressional District of Illinois, is misrepresenting his military service during the Vietnam War to attract the votes of veterans....

...Mr. Hare and I were engaged in a conversation concerning the statements he is making around the district about being a veteran. After I pointed out that according to the law he is not a veteran, he became very upset and demanded to know my name. I refused to tell him...
Mr. Hare then told one of his aids who was with him, to follow me to my car and get my license plate number so he could find out who I was. I have since been told that Mr. Hare's daughter works for the DMV.
I have long felt that citizens should be notified whenever a government employee accesses their information—just a simple email with the name of the employee, the date and time, and a reason for the access. Businesses, especially financial services and healthcare, would also benefit from an accountability system like this, too. Part of the vision of the Tea Party movements across this country is one of a government Accountable to the People.

Mr. Moffett: Thank you for your service and may you be blessed with better representation in the future!
