Todd Akin U.S. Senate Announcement and Question and Answer Session

The video above is of Rep. Todd Akin's (R-MO) 9 minute announcement of his run for the U.S. Senate. Akin will challenge Claire McCaskill (D-MO) if he secures the Republican nomination. The video below is the question and answer session that followed. It runs about 12 Minutes.

During the announcement, Akin touted his willingness to buck his party as a sign of his independence from DC insiders. He also remarked on his record of fiscal conservatism and opposition to Obamacare, Cash for Clunkers, the bailouts, and other reckless fiscal policies. Akin also acknowledge the burden of our growing regulatory state when he quoted the following complaint about King George III from America's Declaration of Independence:

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance.
