ATLANTA -- Raymond Royal Marshall, producer of the Neal Boortz Radio Show, died at his Atlanta home early Saturday.I used to listen to Boortz and Royal all the time. I enjoyed their show and it was clear that the relationship between the two men was a close one. I remember one day when Boortz got stuck in traffic or something and was unable to get to the studio. Royal jumped behind the mic and carried the show. He could do that.
Marshall, 43, collapsed at his home. Paramedics responded to his wife's call to 911, but were unable to revive him. He was pronounced dead early Saturday at Grady Hospital.
'For 15 years, it's been 'Royal and Belinda'' said Belinda Skelton, executive producer of the Neal Boortz Show. 'My other half is gone. I don't know if I can sit and look at someone else on the other side of that glass.'
Prayers and condolences to Royal's wife and family. I think it's safe to say that Neal Boortz will need that support, too.

Royal was a St.Louis native who attended college in Georgia. He was a genuine class act. While living in Atlanta I enjoyed listening to his interaction with Boortz as well as Royal's evening program: "The Royal Treatment" on WSB. Pray for his wife and two little girls. RIP.
