Steve Tilley's Astroturf at Lincoln Days

Speaker of the Missouri House, Steve Tilley (R), is fertilizing some astroturf at this weekend's Lincoln Days event. Last December he offered to help cover the part of the cost of St. Louis area Young Replicans if they would agree to wear a Tilley t-shirt. In light of Tilley's recent association with the New Black Panther Party, I'm looking for photographs of attendees wearing the complete ensemble: both the Tilley t-shirt and a black beret. Extra credit will be given to anyone that gets a photo of Tilley diving behind a table to avoid beret wearing "supporters".

@John, from what I can tell the people who are against local control in the city of St Louis are trying to do everything they can to discredit Tilley. I am a Blue Dog down to the bone but did some research on Tilley and found out when you look at his voting record he is 100% bi partisan on a lot of his votes. It seems like to me he is the driving force behind the Missouri Republican Party and is willing to work with both parties. If you ask me this man us pretty damn impressive.

@john The "connection" they're referring to is that Steve Tilley wanted to give control of the St. Louis Police Dept. back to St. Louis. The Black Panthers have also come out in favor of local control. There is no real "connection" between Tilley and the Panthers. These bloggers are trying to make it look like they're in bed on this issue and it's totally blown out of proportion.

As an aside, Speaker Tilley has also offered the same deal to the St. Charles Young Republicans, of which I was president and now treasurer. Several of us have taken him up on his generous offer (to try and help the young people in the state become more active) and we'll be wearing his shirts PROUDLY. In my case, I'm even more energized about it because of these blowhards.

It's a shame that when there are so many more newsworthy things they COULD be talking about, they choose to spend their time attacking a proven leader.
